Combative No-gi Jiujitsu/Kickboxing

JBMA offers classes in combative no-gi Jiujitsu and Kickboxing.

Jiujitsu (also known as Ju-Jitsu, Jiu-Jitsu or Jijutsu) is a Japenese martial art intended for close combat, and emphasizing throws, holds, joint-locks and pins.

JBMA is combining the Jiujitsu training with instruction in stand up kickboxing techniques. Each week teaching the two techniques (Mon./Tues.) separately and instructing in the use of both on Wed.

Training focuses on what is necessary for effective strikes, submission with strikes, throws, take downs, joint locks and finishing the "situation". Training will allow practitioner to practice full speed and full power. Training methods include technique drills against a non-resisting partner, and isolation sparring, commonly referred to as positional drilling where certain techniques are used. Physical conditioning is also an important part of training.
